When does the Blue Cave season start and end in 2027?

Plan on April to October. In 2026 the ticket calendar ran from 1 April to 31 October, and there were no scheduled visits from November to March.

The cave is run by a concession on Bisevo, and the season dates are set there each year. For official answers, the contacts listed by the Komiza tourist board are the place to ask: [email protected] or +385 91 463 3330.

One date to watch: Easter 2027 falls on 28 March, a few days before the season opened in 2026. If you are travelling over Easter, do not count on the cave. Split tours themselves tend to ramp up through April and May as the weather allows.

How much will the Blue Cave ticket cost in 2027?

Not set yet. Use the 2026 rates as your guide: EUR 18 for adults in spring and autumn, EUR 24 in high summer, half price for children 6 to 12.

Rates are decided locally before each season, and we will update this post when 2027 prices appear. The 2026 structure, below, comes from the operators' listings and hvar.com. Budget in cash. There is no card machine and no cash machine on Bisevo.

What is the best month for the Blue Cave in 2027?

September, for most people: a warm sea, good light, half the August crowd and the cheaper ticket from the 11th. July is the safest for calm water.

Each month has a trade. hvar.com rates July best for few closures and late June and July best for light, flags the last two weeks of August for queues of up to 90 minutes at Mezuporat, and calls September the best compromise. Sea temperatures are averages for Split from weather2travel.

When should you book a Blue Cave tour for 2027?

For July and August, as soon as your dates are fixed. For spring and autumn, a few weeks ahead is usually enough.

The good small-group boats take 12 people at most, and the popular summer departures fill first. Every tour on this site has free cancellation up to 24 hours before, so booking early costs nothing if your plans move. Some operators only open the next season's calendar over the winter, so if a 2027 date is not bookable yet, check back in the new year.

What should you expect on an early-season trip in April or May?

Cooler water, fewer boats and more wind. The cave closes more often in May, and mornings on the speedboat are cold.

The sea off Split averages about 14°C in April and 18°C in May. Swim stops still happen; not everyone gets in. Gray Line starts at 8:00 from 1 April to 15 May, and every operator tells you to bring long sleeves for the morning ride outside July and August.

The upside is space. Short queues at Mezuporat, a calm Komiza, an empty Stiniva. If your dates are flexible, pick a settled week and keep a backup day. Our packing guide covers the layers.

Will anything change for 2027?

Nothing has been announced for the cave as of 8 October 2026. On the ferry side, 2026 brought a new summer fast line to Vis that may or may not return.

In 2026 Jadrolinija added a fast ship line Split, Bol, Hvar and Vis from 19 June to 13 September, leaving Split at 7:30 and reaching Vis at 9:25 (HRT). It made a long day trip to Vis possible without a tour. Whether it runs again in 2027 will show in the new timetables.
