Valiant d.o.o. · Split

The Blue Cave and five islands with Valiant

A 12-seat speedboat leaves Split for Biševo, then works its way back through Vis, Stiniva, the Budikovac lagoon and Hvar town in one long day. Pick it for the pacing: guests report time to spare at every stop, which is rare on a route this long.

Blue Cave, Vis & Hvar 5-Island Tour

About this experience

Valiant d.o.o. is a Split travel agency, and this is its five-island loop. You meet at the south steps of Trg Republike, the arcaded square at the west end of the Riva that everyone calls the Prokurative. The boat heads straight out to Biševo, 75 to 90 minutes away, so the Blue Cave comes first. After that: coffee and a swim in Komiža on Vis, short photo stops at the old Stupišće missile base and the limestone caves, Stiniva cove, 75 minutes in the Budikovac lagoon and two and a half hours in Hvar town.

Know what the cave part really is. At Mezuporat cove you change into a small wooden boat run by the cave concession, wait your turn, then spend 5 to 15 minutes inside, seated, with no swimming allowed. With the queue that is about an hour of a 10.5-hour day. The rest is islands and swimming. If the sea is up, the cave closes, sometimes on the same morning, and the skipper swaps in another stop. Two of the latest guests describe exactly that, and both still loved the day.

The cave ticket is the one loose end. The listing puts the entry ticket under Includes, but the itinerary marks the Blue Cave stop as an extra fee. Ask Valiant when they message you the day before, and carry euros anyway: in 2026 adults pay EUR 24 from 20 June to 10 September and EUR 18 the rest of the season, cash only, and there is no ATM on Biševo. Lunch in Hvar is on you. Our cave ticket guide has the full rates.

  • Biševo first, so the cave comes early in the day
  • 75 minutes of swimming and snorkelling in the Budikovac lagoon
  • Two and a half hours in Hvar town for lunch and a walk
  • Komiža, the Vis harbour from Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again
  • Groups of 12 at most, with masks and towels on board

Tips before you book

  • Make sure WhatsApp works on your phone before you travel. The meeting time arrives by message the day before.
  • Bring EUR 24 per adult in small notes for the cave, whatever the listing says, plus coffee money for Komiža.
  • Sit towards the back if you get seasick or have a sensitive back. The bow takes the hardest hits.
  • Eat a real breakfast. Lunch is in Hvar, late in the day, and paid by you.
  • Late August brings the longest queue at Mezuporat, up to about 90 minutes according to hvar.com. September is calmer.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Blue Cave ticket included in Valiant's tour?

The listing contradicts itself: the ticket sits under Includes, but the Blue Cave stop says extra fee. Ask Valiant when you book and bring euros in cash anyway. In 2026 adults pay EUR 24 from 20 June to 10 September and EUR 18 from 1 April to 19 June and from 11 September to 31 October. Children 6 to 12 pay half, and under-6s go free.

Where does the Valiant Blue Cave tour start?

At the south steps of Trg Republike (the Prokurative) on the Split waterfront. Arrive 15 minutes early: the start time on your booking is when the boat leaves.

What happens if the Blue Cave is closed?

The cave shuts in swell or a southerly jugo wind, and the call is made on Biševo, often that morning. The tour still runs and the skipper replaces the cave with another stop. If the weather cancels the whole trip, you get a full refund. Our closures guide explains the odds by month.

Can children join the Valiant tour?

From age 4. The listing rules out children under 4, pregnant women, people with back problems and people with mobility impairments. Children 6 to 12 pay half price for the cave ticket.
